The Ennis Triathlon

Blackwater Triathlon Club member Karen McNamara travelled to Ennis on Sunday the 25th of March to take part in the Ennis Duathlon. Conditions on the day were excellent for the 78 athletes who started the race. The event consisted of a 3.5 km run, followed by a 13 km cycle and finishing with another 3.5 km run. The event venue has changed this year and featured some very challenging hills on the run section. As Karen described it after the race, “ the run is basically a big hill!” Just the ticket for an early season race.  Karen finished the race in 1:16:14. Well done to Karen and everyone who took part on the day. Kudos to Ennis Triathlon Club for organising such a friendly and well run event. Apparently the post race refreshments of cakes, brownies, macaroons etc. were well worth the trip alone.
