Mallow 10

Sunday March the 25th saw several members of the Blackwater Triathlon Club take part in the Mallow 10, ten mile road race. Conditions on the day were perfect as huge crowds of runners and spectators gathered for the event. Over 1200 runners had entered the race which was organised by Mallow Athletic Club. The first man home on the day was Alan O’Shea from Bantry AC in a time of 51:47. The first lady home was Jill Hodgins of Leevale AC in a time of 59:18. The BTC was represented by David Murphy (1:02:09), Stephen Collins (1:06:53), Adrian Collins (1:09:14), Ann Lyons (1:23:15) and Ciara MacCallum (1:35:46). Martin Feeney also started the race but succumbed to a calf injury half way through. All the athletes thoroughly enjoyed the race. It was a very friendly event, and very well organised with lots of marshals on the day. Well done to the organisers and everyone who took part on the day.
