Araglin 7 Bends of Hell Charity Cycle

On Sunday the 24th of March the Araglin Parents Associationheld a charity cycle to raise funds for the local school, Scoil Mhuire. Therewere three routes available on the day, a 5km kids’ route, a 50km tour and the75km “7 Bends of Hell” option. Amongst those taking part on the day wereseveral of Blackwater Triathlon Club’s finest. The infamous ‘7 Bends of Hell’route was the chosen option for most of the BTC gang on the day. This routeinvolved a number of steep and twisty ascents and descents that were achallenge of both fitness levels and technical skills. The cycle began inAraglin heading through Kilworth, Ballyduff, Lismore, Ballysaggart, up and downthe 7 bends to Ballyporeen and then back to Araglin. Fortunately all the BTCParticipants were up to the challenge and made it back safely to avail of themuch needed refreshments on offer. Beautiful weather on the day ensured areally good turn out and the groups headed off that morning in the brightsunshine. The occasional headwinds around Ballysaggart just made the post cyclerefreshments even tastier. This was a well organised and friendly event for avery good cause. Well done to all who took part on the day with special thanksgoing to the Araglin Parent’s association who organised the event and providedthe much needed refreshments afterwards.
