The VGraph KTC Triathlon
On Sunday the 15th of July, two members of the Blackwater Triathlon Club, Ken Power and Bernard (Barney) Kiernan, travelled to Kilkenny to take part in the VGraph KTC Triathlon.
This popular event, which is organised by the Kilkenny Triathlon Club, takes place in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle. For both Ken and Barney this was a first attempt at a triathlon and both elected to take part in the try a Tri event. This consisted of a 250 metre swim, a 20km cycle and a 5km run. Conditions on the day were a little wet and windy but that didn’t deter our dynamic duo as they finished their triathlon debut strongly. Ken came home in 1:23:58 and Barney finished in 1:35:26. Excellent times from both of them and hopefully just the first of many.
