The Harbourman triathlon took place in Wicklow town on Sunday the 9th of July. The Olympic Distance event, started with a 1500metre swim in Wicklow harbour followed by a 40km out and back cycle and finishing with a 10km run which included 2 laps of Wicklow town. Joe Scanlan, Stehen Collins and club chairman, Mick Mulcahy were representing the Blackwater Triathlon Club at Saturday’s event, lining up with 250 other competitors on the day. Despite the warm conditions all three performed very well as usual with Joe finishing in a time of 2:20:36, 13th overall and over four minutes faster than he finished the same race last year. Mick finished in 2:36:37 and Stephen crossed the line in 2:38:35. Well done to all three of the BTC crew and everyone else who took part on the day.
