TheBlackwater Triathlon Club was pleased to welcome Eilis Burns to Fermoy pool onthe afternoon of Sunday the 13^th of January for a swimmingcourse.  Eilis is a level 3 swim coach and oneof the most successful marathon swim coaches in Ireland. She is an accomplishedswimmer, being an Irish Masters Swim record holder and seasoned marathonswimmer, and has even been inducted into the Marathon Swimming Ireland Hall ofFame for her efforts as a coach. Nearly 30 members availed ofthe opportunity to train with Eilis, and every one of them was very impressedand felt that they had learned something from the course. The course, whichcatered for all levels of swimmer, started with a couple of hours of techniqueand video work in the pool. This was followed by a lunch break, during whichthere was a talk and video from Eilis with a Q & A session. The dayfinished off with another hour of pool work. It was a physically and mentallychallenging afternoon for the participants, but all agreed it was well worththe effort. Well done to Declan O’Keeffe for organising the event. Hopefully wewill be running several more similar events as the year goes on.
