Fresh from his success at the Edge Sports BlackwaterTriathlon Club Aquathlon the previous week, Blackwater Triathlon Club’s JustinRyan continued his winning streak, claiming a hard fought victory at the Mallow ‘Splash ’n’ Dash ‘n Ballyhass’Aquathlon. The event took place in Ballyhass lakes near Mallow on theevening of 2019 Wednesday the 17th of July. More than 60 competitors took partin the race on a warm summer evening. The race consisted of a 750 metre swim inthe lake, followed by a hilly 5km run. There was a good turnout from TheBlackwater Triathlon Club on the night, with more than a dozen of our finestathletes heading to Mallow to support our neighbouring club. As mentioned,Justin Ryan won the race on the day, crossing the finish line in a veryimpressive time of 28:53. Fellow BTC athlete Gearoid Murphy finished in fifthplace overall, less than two minutes behind Justin, in 30:48. All of thecompetitors really enjoyed their evening out at the lakes, and especiallyenjoyed the post race refreshments. Well done to all who took part on the dayand to Mallow triathlon Club for organising such an excellent race.
