With The Edge Sports Blackwater Aquathlon taking place this week, the club held a practise event for club members only on the evening of Thursday the 4th of July. Seventeen of Blackwater Triathlon Club’s finest took to the river and roads of Fermoy on the evening, swimming 750 metres before a 6 kilometre run. Everything went according to plan on the evening, especially for Jonathon Kennealy who came home first in an excellent time of 34:52, beating Gearoid Murphy by a mere 16 seconds on the night. Niamh Fleming was the first of the ladies to cross the line, in 44:24. Next on the agenda is the full Aquathlon on Wednesday the 10th of July.
