Blackwater Triathlon Club members Justin Ryan and Christian Board were in Kinsale on Sunday the 24th of February to take part in the inaugural Kinsale 10 mile Road race. Organised and hosted by Riverstick-Kinsale AC and Kinsale Triathlon Club, the race attracted a great turn out with nearly 650 athletes competing on the day. The race started and finished at the Kinsale Community School and comprised of a mostly flat course with a few small hills, just to make it interesting. Conditions on the day were breezy, but dry and quite mild for the time of year. Both BTC athletes did well on the day with Justin powering home in a very impressive 59:29, 20th overall and 8th male in the 18-39 age category and Christian coming home in 1:29:17. Well done to the organisers and everyone who took part on the day. This will hopefully become a permanent fixture on the early season race schedule. While Justin and Christian were hitting the roads in Kinsale, fellow club man, Conor McCarthy had travelled to West Limerick to compete in the Analog Devices Adare 10k. This is a very popular race on the run calendar and 657 runners took part in the race on the day. Well done Conor and everyone else who raced on the day.
